Cheap and easy exfoliator
Some exfoliators in shops can be horrendously expensive and have lots of things in there that are probably not beneficial to your skin. I see very little point in buying something pricey that will just be flushed down the plug hole that may not even work. So my answer to this was to make a homemade exfoliator.
Three ingredients, cheap and cheerful. You can’t go wrong.
- Brown sugar, this is less coarse than white sugar but if you don’t have brown sugar, white sugar will be fine. Just don’t rub too hard on your skin!
- Olive oil, this will act as a moisturiser while the sugar is working its magic.
- Vanilla, lemon or lime. This ingredient is simply to give the mix a scent.
Use 2/3 brown sugar and 1/3 olive oil. Drizzle a bit of vanilla extract or squeeze a bit of lemon or lime in the pot. Lemon and lime will add a freshness which would be perfect in the morning to wake you up. Whereas vanilla will make it sweeter.
Use when you are in the bath or the shower, rub over your skin to remove those dead skin cells and wash it off. When you’re not using it just cover the pot in cling film.
